| No tones needed, just put those in and you are good. If you can only chose 4 get two low ones (make sure one of them is 3) and 2 high ones that way you have options. | |

| It sort of looks like a CB but the frequencies are totally different from a CB to FRS/GMRS and you can't make one talk to the other. | |

Just give him the frequencies listed above to program it and you should be good to go. You will also need a 1/4 wave antenna and cable. | |

| rayray, they probably could as long as they have the software for the brand and model you want programmed. I checked into getting my own software to program radios but it was not cost effective. I had my radios programmed by a person who is big into Ham radios. They are a good source of information. | |

| Just check and make sure they can program them with the FRS or GMRS frequncies if thats what your wanting. Sounds like a good deal tho. | |

| I've been reading about the GMRS radios and it says you need an FCC liscense to operate one. Anybody out there now how to get one? | |

| u dont need it. There wont be anyone in the woods to complain to the FCC about it. Nobody in our group has one. Well not to my knowledge. |

| You can go to the ARRL web site for info or go to QRZ.COM and you can take a pratice test consisting of 396 questions. The actual test is only 40 questions. To get information go to ARRL testing in your area. Then you can get on 2-meter and really jam!!! | |
