| After the Spring ride I came to the conclusion I may need some skids. The plastic one took a beating and it def. looks it did.
I hope I dont have any damage to my RZR. Hopefully they are tough.
I was wondering what skids are you guys running that have them. Any suggestions on this?
Thanks in advance! |

| Most that I see on RZR's are EMP.
I like the looks of Tony's Toys as well. |

| Just a Idea, I took the plastic skip plate off and went and bought a sheet of 1/8" (25#) mild steel and took the plastic skid plate and made a template from that and cut it out with a Plasma cutter. Did all the drain holes and holes for the oil, etc. Then I put the metal plate underneath the RZR with a floor jack and used a few self tapping screws to hold it in place, and then put the plastic skid plate underneath that, then begin using the factory bolts to put the plastic in its original place. So overall it wasnt to expensive to do just alot of time. I know the metal is heavier than Alum. or the new HD plastic skid plate from UHMV but I like doing things myself. It doesnt have the CNC cuts on it but hey it works. Also made my own Gas Tank Guard this morning with some mild steel and its very lite. So I guess if you like doing projects yourself and have the tools to do it "Why Not". Any kind of upgrade is Great for any ATV or UTV. So good luck on what you decide to do.

| That's a Great idea!! I really like that! I may have to try that. I think I am going to put mine up on center blocks and crawl underneath to take off the old one and install the new one. |

| Cool, this way you get to use the plastic skid plate for sliding over stuff. Anyway that factory plastic is pretty tuff stuff. I've been over rocks, tree's etc. and this thing is still in good shape. I havent punched a hole in it as of yet, so why not use it. Besides the metal plate doesnt have to that pretty because the plastic covers it up. Now the A-arms guards I bought from Bresse Lawn up north there a Polaris Dealer and the price was right. I got the whole set last spring for around $150.00 incl. shipping. I think there more than that now. But there is another comp. that I have been trading with and these guys are Great!!! Super ATV out of Indiana, Casey has done a Great Job with things that I have ordered. I just got my Rhino Brand Axles last week and installed the and the Prices are right. I will put them to the test next week at Brimstone for the White Knuckle Event. Its a Blast besides it give me a chance for a visit with my mother and me and my brother get together and go Wheelin. I really think if I had to buy a skid plate for the bottom I would consider UHMV because it still Plastic and Heavier Duty than the stock and its done a great job so far. Anyway good luck!!!!! | Here is some photos of my rzr. Damage is from the fall ride.
I damaged the side panel and looks like the skid plate has been beaten with 40 hours of riding.
Here is the side plate after I pulled it off. |

No lift for me, I run the rzr the same as my xc quad. Don't think a lift would've helped, I was going 50 when it popped thru. The log was 3ft long. | |

| I took a look at Thunter's skids, he and his brother both have emp aluminum skids. I really liked them, and will have a set in a month or few. His brother had a huge dent right under the engine. If those hadn't been on there it would have been bad news. So I figure if I get hung up on a rock, you guys behind me can have a beer while I pull cable. Better safe than sorry. | |
