| ok thanks ,yes down by the caliper where houseing should attach.I would think it needs something there to keep the houseing from moveing .the park brake ain't never been much but didn't pay any attention till we were in Wv an it would not sit in trailer long enough to tie it down | |

| I think the cable housing just sits in a cradle at the caliper, the only cable adjustment is on the drivers side under the engine cover below the handle, all it does is take out the slack in the cable. if you wish to tighten your e-brake up, first check the pads, they wear out easy, if the pads are good, you have to loosen the lock nut on the back of the caliper cam, turn the cam to push the caliper out and re-tighten the lock nut. Stock parking brake pads were not available at the local yamadog shop here, so i matched them with the front brake pads off a yamaha dirt bike, same backing plate, thicker pad material....works good so far. Hope this helps! | |

| ok we are getting close its like a lawn mover with a loose houseing it won't speed up because the houseing is moveing instead of the cable. My houseing is picking up out of the cradel.think we are going to have to wait an see if neuromax can bring it up on fish.? what yamaha dirt bike did you match up thats a great idea :168: | |

| Try pulling the engine cover, loosen the lock nut on the slack adjuster and adjust the cable housing? Shoot, I'm gonna have to look at the manual now, I'm just going off of memory. Let me dig up the part number on the dirt bike pads for ya! | |

| Cowboy your right as long as all he needs is a parking brake adjustment. I to thought that the cable needed tightened and then found the the arm the cable moves is only allowed to go so far and hits a stopper and thats when I found out you had to losen the nut and then turn the bolt inside of the nut to take out the extra slack. Adjusting the cable under the engine cover does nothing to help with the holding of the parking brake.
Are the pads and everything moving up when you pull the lever?
Cowboy and I have told you how to adjust the parking brake. Sounds like you may have something more than just a simple brake adjustment. Heres all I know of the parking brake of these things and I should know a good bit because I have had mine apart many times.
Two bolts hold the brake support to the rear diff. Two more small allen head screws hold the pads into the caliper. The end of the cable has a long round thing of lead on it the fits in the lever and the cable houseing should be held still by the support when you pull the lever. I found dropping the rear diff skid plat makes for easy work on the parking brake.
I'll look at mine again tomorrow and let me know anything else you can about what its doing and I will see what I do for ya. | |

| I've thrown a few ropes in my life...cant say I ever roped a rhino! I guess you could get a hillbilly cruise control/parking brake, I had one on my old truck, its a multi-use standard all-american brick. Set it on the gas when your foots tired, throw it under the wheel when you park! | |

| I have used a stick on my last truck that was a stick and the park brake didn't work. Put it between the seat and brake pedal and use the electric seat to put the right amount of pressure on it to hold it while I hooked up the trailer. :158: | |
