| Any of you guys out there had a ring and pinion go out on your RZR? Mine tore up and I went to order parts and is a factory replace only complete assembly $1300. Does anybody know of any totaled RZR's around that they would sell for parts? Any help would be appreciated | |

| That is what you are buying ring and pinion with the pinion already put into the case with the pinion bearings. Now I don't think you can buy just the gears. Also you have to have a special socket to get the pinion nut off I think it is like $50 (from HPD) or you can make your own. | |

| Frankie I stopped in at my Dealer on the way to work and they said you have to get the whole thing and it's $900. I told them about the price you got and they said it lists for $921 so they were trying to stick it to ya. | |

| Thanks everyone I had a noise in the back of it from day one but I didn't think it was anything to be concerned with, so I guess I have learned a hard lesson: If you hear something that doesn't sound right, get it checked out while it is still under warranty might save yourself alot of money down the road | |

| The only noise I've heard out of mine is a pop in the rear swaybar mount when it's in a hell of a bind. First time I heard it I was scared. Other than that it's quiet. Frankie I will give you a call tomarrow sometime. You gotta get that thing back up for spring time! | |

| Rear end fixed; thank you hump for your help installing the new one. In case anynone wants to know what happened to the old one; the nut came off of the pinion gear and absolutely gutted the pinion and ring gear. I am going to try to get ahold of a polaris rep. and let them know what happened. I think I should be compensated for the nut coming loose from the pinion because that is a factory default on their part that should not have happened costing me $1300 bucks. Does anyone else agree? | |

That is what happened. The bearings were not hurt. The nut was just laying behind the seal, and the threads were in good shape too. It's a shame you couldn't get just the parts to fix it. Ring and pinion, and pinion bearings would have fixed it. Everything else looked good. If anyone gets any noise in the rear, tear it down quick and see what's wrong. Or, if it's under waranty, take it in. | |
