| Check the wires going back to the motor on the drivers side. I lost my 4wd at the fall ride and the wires were rubbing aginst the shifter cable and had cut one of them. My speedometer didn't display what gear I was in either, can't remember if the awd display showed up or not. The wires were hard to see because it's where all the wires come out of the main harness and split off in different directions. | |

| Check you diff fluid to see if it is full , if so then change it to see if it has water or mudd ... Low fluid or dirty fluid can cause it to not engage and cause it to lock in 4 wheel drive... The fact that it dispalys would tell me that it has power , does the spedo work ? Do a code check on your spedo ( procedure is in your manual , if you don't have then post up we will find it for ya ...) | |

| The front end locks up with an electro magnet on a steel ring in front end as it turns it engages the sprague carrier check voltage at connector first. | |

| Yep, start with the wiring and see if you have power going to it when you flip the switch. If everything checks out with the wiring up to the diff and it still doesn't engage, then you know it has to be internal. | |

| Yeah Glenn it's real low I hope it didn't mess anything up being that low but I guess that's why it stoped working so that it wouldn't break anything | |

The front diff only holds 7oz of fluid and should be changed every 400 miles...also I raised my breather tube up to the inside of my roof and put a home made filter on top of it...I found out where the tube was it let dust into the front diff..

| I hope that is all the problem was Mayo... Anytime the 4 wheel drive acts strange you can pretty much go to the fluid first ... It will be dirty , have water , or grit as Bubba said... replacing the vent line might not be a bad idea at least extend it to the dash... | |

| 7 ounces is overfilling. Polaris says 6.752 ounces. That or until it gets done running out the fill hole. Just fill it to the fill hole and let the excess run out then cap it. |

I first extended it to under the dash and it made it worse...I took it to the roof and it solved the problem....now when I change my fluid there's no dirt in it...

| It's alot for that little front diff. Plus we don't want to sit there and shove it in.
U would be surprised how a diff will react to an overfill. |

| The problem with the vent line is that the the wise folks at PO-PO just pointed it straight up...that's where the dirt comes from...when first got my rzr I kept getting dirt and water in the front diff...so I got to looking and seen the problem. Towards the top of the line...just loop it so that it points down...that way dirt and water just don't fall straight down in the diff. I did mine that way and it's clean every time and no more water ot dirt. | |
