CLUTCH KIT ON A POLARIS 900 XP?????

HAS ANYBODY INSTALLED A CLUTCH KIT ON A 2011 POLARIS 900 XP?????. MY XP FEELS REAL JERKY WHEN RIDING SLOW AND FREE ROLLS GOING DOWN HILLS.WILL A CLUTCH KIT HELP WITH THIS AND WHICH KIT TO BUY? THANKS GUYS

Jerking is normal when accelerating from slow speed. Don't know if that is what you are talking about. Free rolling is normal also. Pop the gas to engage the clutch to avoid this for a short time. To avoid free rolling you can change the bearing in the clutch. Not to familiar with this procedure. Some one may speak up. Don't think a clutch kit will help..

Very Very Very few clutch kits, if any at all, will help engine braking. It depends on the profile of the flyweights and the engagement rpms. You can put a one-way bearing in your primary. However, if I'm correct, Polaris had a lot of issues with one -way bearings seizing up in the older RZR "S" due to its weight and eventually done away with it. The only engine braking you have is provided by the EBS notch that is in the Helix in your secondary (900s have the Team 3 secondary). The stock setup gives engine braking to around 2000 rpms, then you have to stab the gas pedal to keep it engaged. Hunterworks makes a helix for your secondary that does away with your engine brake. They also make several clutch kits for the primary depending on your desired performance gain. Call todd he is a very good guy and takes the time to explain everything

I was unaware of that. I guess the 2 people I know that sent him clutches were happy. Hard to see negative posts when there deleted

One foot on brake and One foot lightly on gas. That's how I engine braked the Rzr 800 that I rented in Utah for a week. Does the XP take that technique also?

I am not sure on the 900 , but almost all CVT belt should be smooth , not jerky , If you have a jerky feeling I would guess you have burnt your belt , or have a gotton it wet and have a low spot , that or the Deflection is off ..
