Went by the gun store today to pick up more ammo for the AR. I was shocked....most of his guns on the wall were sold over the past two weeks.

He said after the election people went crazy. Ammo for the AR right now is real bad. Alot of places are out but this place I go to had some. I went ahead and bought ten more boxes. Trying to build some up like Hump said.

I was just shocked at all the guns that sold over the past few days.

Yea Tbone save all your brass and get a reloading kit. If you are going to do much shooting you might want to get a press that can do all the function at the same time. I use a Rockchucker made by RCBS and its very sturdy and is great but they also now make a progressive press that can load rounds pretty fast and reliable. Just do your home work and get with someone that loads a lot like that and learn the right way to do it and have fun loading and shooting all your weapons from pistols to rifle rounds! The press for a shotgun round takes a different type press tho!

I suggest a Dillon progressive if you are interested.

we have been super busy at our store as well. i purchased for myself 4 cases each of 9mm and 45.. and 6 cases of 22. i need to get a few cases of 44 as well. guns and ammo have been flying out our doors, good thing we have 1000's of cases stored up

That terrorist we have for a president is gonna shut us down on reloading too. Stock up fast and hard now! Take out a load if you have to!

The assault weapons ban is coming for sure, as well as ammo stamping and regulations on how much you can buy.

Tbone, I just pick up my ammo 5 or 10 boxes of 20 at a time wherever I can get it. Wal-mart is about the best if they have any. I know you hate Wal-Mart, but you better get in there and clean off the .223 shelves when you can. I check it out often, and the shelves will be bare for days, then one night be crammed full. They had some cheap 7.62x39 tonight for $4.95 a box. Had a ton of it.

I wonder how much of this gun and ammo buying right now has to do with hunting. I wonder if the sales would be as high if the election was in July, instead of just a few weeks from deer season. However I believe Hump is pretty spot on. You better stock up!!! Try bulkammo.com.

most of the buying is from odummy getting reelected again. same thing happened last election too. ammo and gun sells went thur the roof

Been trying to stock up on my re-loading equipment, at least as much as I can afford. I hope I can find a way to buy 2 new Ak's before the ban comes down. I just got this feeling that things are gonna get ugly in the near future!!

There was a report about a month ago where the Department of Homeland Security, along with the Social Security adminstration purchased 1.4 Billion rounds of ammo. This Ammo was 45 ACP, 308, and 223. Most of it was hollow points. I never served in the military, but doesn't the military primarily use FMJ rounds? So why would the DHS and SSA need 1.4 Billion rounds??? Thats a shitload of ammo!! Thats 5 rounds for every American citizen.

Hopefully never. I don't think right now there has been any movement in congress toward banning assault rifles. Most gun owners are just expecting it to happen. Mainly because of all the gun violence lately and Obama saying that they should be banned. Right now it looks like Obama has his hands full with the Bengazi cover up, the economy, perhaps war in the middle east, and all these sex scandals. I would keep my eye on the UN arms treaty. It took the Obama administration about 3 hours after the election to pledged full support from America for that treaty. Before the election the Obama administration said they would not support that treaty. Just shows you what kind of a lying piece of crap president we're dealing with!!!

wed morn after he was elected we sold every assult style gun we had. sold a ton of ammo. there were folks buying 2-3 at a time.

thursday morn, the wholesalers bumped the prices up. we have sevral more AR's instock, as well as AK's saigas, and a few other assoted items. we have ammo instock of all calibers as well. the price is the same on ammo for now, the guns went up 50-200 per gun on the wholesalers side. pretty sad

and just a lil FYI for some of you posting. it would be in your best interest to delete how much ammo you have. thats something you need not talk about publicly.

Today I went to buy my weekly squirrl of ammo. He is painting the picture that we will never be able to get ammo for our AR-15's. I know the price will probably go up and it may be a wait but is it true that we are going to get to the point where we will never get any ammo???

After this last shooting I wouldn't be surprised if a major gun ban got shoved through in the next few days. Or, an atempt to disarm everyone.

I don't understand. What's the attraction in an assault rifle? One of my neighbors came over to visit and told me he bought a .308 assault rifle. I asked him if he could afford to shoot it. Help me, I don't get it.

"assault" is a term picked up by the media and politicians to intensify the need to ban guns from public availability. it can mean anything capable of semi automatic firing. as with most govt programs it will start small and then completely control use of what ever the item is, e.g. socialist security, mediscare, any tax...
