The View Question

If I have a novice atv rider in the group are the hill climbs at the view easy enough.  Just planning out this weekends route and I personally have never checked out the view.  Just wondering.

yes I would say so. The view will be fine. I like going there.

not too hard to get up but sometimes mining people will run you off, just come back later

I would not say that it is easy.  We were up there a couple of weeks ago the right trail on the front was very loose, you had better not loose momentum.  The left trail on the front is by far the easiest.  The trails on the back are rough.  Our guys kind of made new trails in the grass and it was smoother. I would have the newbie watch the others first.

If the newbie is not comfortable with the the view they can walk or ride up and have someone else take their bike to the top. Won't be the first time I have seen this happen. Better to be safe than exceed your limits. I think the view is pretty easy but I've been at this a little while.

My kids go up and down in a 170 rzr with no problem.its setting in the middle of the line.

None of the climbs are super hard but some are easier than others. 

The easy ones are pretty easy.  But they can still look semi intimidating to newer riders.

is this the high spot on the reclaimed mine? or are you taking about pinnacle rock above the camp ground?

When you get to it there is a trail on the left that is pretty easy. My kids go up in a 2wd rzr 170 with no problem. Be carefull.

I agree that if someone isn't comfortable they should try it and just stay at the bottom, walk, ride up with someone else.

With that said there are trails up to the top that I could literally ride 1 mph up in 4wd and never spin.  But I can understand how it can intimidate new riders and nobody should feel pressured into doing something that is above their skill or comfort level.

Just dont go up the back side ...its very steep,i went up it once in the commander and all i seen was sky till i got over the top...wont be doing that again!!! but the front side is easy and not too steep.     

Wvbill it's the reclaim area on west side of the Haul Road on way to Welch, the Strip mine reclaim area above Pinnacle Creek Campground is not where they are talking about.

I didn't know you could still get up there. Are you going up from the back side off the haul road?

One of the locals said u could...I'm not sure how....I think they are about mined out right there in that area around the rock

Roger, I have confused everyone sorry. I was talking about the rock above pinnacle campground. I haven't been up there in a few years.

That pic is right of the road that goes by the view. Behind him in that pic is the big view hill

Lol.....ah-ha...see I'm not crazy....lol....I was told u can get to pinnacle rock u just have to walk up the slope to the base.....I don't think they have much more to mine right in that area....at least they didn't last time I was involved in blue stones permiting....

Yep that pic is the down view headed away from the view. That's the trail headed back to pinnacle creek

So what does everyone call the view? The hill above pinnacle creek campground, or the big hill on the hual road going to Welch. Two different places. Getting confused here.

yea the big plateau is the view, I guess people call the one above the campground pinnacle rock?

The one above the campground used to have a flag up on the back hill once you got up there and I always heard it called "Flag Rock".
I know a couple of years ago the mine started stopping you from going up there.  Has anyone tried to get up there lately?

next time i ride with bubba i will have to tell him i wanna see this rock...

not to hijack this post but besides the view and train trussel and water fall...what else is a must see area down there??
